Booking terms and conditions
Rental
The holiday rental period is for 7 consecutive nights. We are very flexible, so you can choose your start day and you can extend the number of days if desired. Additional nights will be charged on a pro-rata basis of the weekly rate.
The short break rental period is for 3 consecutive nights. We are very flexible, so you can choose your start day and you can extend the number of days if desired. Additional nights will be charged on a pro-rata basis of the weekly rate.
We do not offer single night breaks.
Other periods are available by request.
The period of hire shall be as specified on the booking form and run from 3pm on the day of arrival to 11 am on the day of departure unless otherwise agreed.
The hirer binds and obliges himself to vacate the property at the termination of the period and the hirer will be responsible for any loss to the lessor resulting from failure to move by the specified time.
Payment
The initial £100 of the hire charge is required at the time of booking, and secures your selected dates. The full remainder of the hire charge is due six weeks before the start of hire.
Electricity, bed linen and towels are included within the rental charge.
Deposit
A refundable breakages deposit of £100 is required on arrival (or before arrival) to cover for breakages, damage etc. This amount will be returned on departure if the property is retained in the same condition as on arrival.
Cancellation
Providing that more than six weeks notice is given, the deposit less a cancellation fee of £30 will normally be refunded. However, should the accommodation not be re-let, the whole of the deposit will be held. Where less than six weeks notice of cancellation is given, every effort will be made to re-let but should this not be possible, the hirer will be liable to pay the balance due. Holiday Cancellation Insurance is strongly advised to avoid this occurring.
Failure to pay
The lessor may treat the booking as cancelled by the hirer in the event of the full hire charge as invoiced not being paid by the hirer six weeks before the date of the start of hire.
Cleaning
The hirer shall at all times maintain the property and leave the property in a clean and tidy condition at the end of the let. Should we have to make any unreasonable extra effort preparing for the next guests, a cleaning charge will be incurred.
Responsibility
The person(s) who sign the booking form will be responsible for ensuring that the conditions of let are adhered to, for any loss or damage to the accommodation and the contents. The accommodation should be kept clean and in good condition and any breakages reported immediately. The hirer binds and obliges himself to pay the lessor in respect of any loss or damage to any item beyond fair wear and tear.
Use of accommodation
The hire property shall be used solely for holiday purposes and the hirer shall not sub-let the properties or any part of the properties, or any equipment hired to the hirer.
Occupancy
The number of people occupying the hired property must not exceed 2 unless agreed in writing with the lessor.
Adjoining properties
Pitfour Castle Stables and their immediate surrounding gardens are privately owned properties. Guests are very welcome to use the communal garden areas around the castle, but are requested to respect the privacy of others living within Pitfour Castle and the converted stables.
Smoking
Please note that smoking is NOT permitted within the buildings of Pitfour Castle.
Children and Pets
Children and quiet pets are very welcome. Parents are entirely responsible for their children's behaviour and are requested to consider the other guests. Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times when outside the property.
Caravans and Tents
No caravans may be parked or tents erected at Pitfour Castle or the adjoining land.
Liability
The lessor shall not accept liability for any accidents, sickness, death, personal injury, loss or damage, direct or indirect, loss or damage to any property, including motor vehicles, motor cycles or the like, however caused, sustained by or occasioned to any person (including persons under the age of 18 years) whether resulting from or caused by the negligence, default, omission or otherwise of the lessor their servants, agents or concessionaires, or of guests, residents, occupiers or invitees.
Access
The hirer shall allow the lessor or his agents or employees entry to the properties for all reasonable purposes.
Admission and Eviction
The lessor reserves the right to refuse admission to any persons
for any just reason. In such cases a full refund of all monies will
be given. The lessor also reserve the right to evict offensive persons
but in this case the repayment of monies will be pro-rata to the
period expired.
